Topping-out ceremony for the Mack Pyramid

At the beginning of March, there were two reasons to celebrate in Monheim am Rhein: the topping-out ceremony for the Mack Pyramid and the 95th birthday of the artist and namesake of the Mack Pyramid, Heinz Mack. The two occasions were combined to mark the occasion with a grand celebration.

As is customary at a topping-out ceremony, the work of the tradespeople was acknowledged and the completion of the steel structure for the extension was inspected. And as is customary on a birthday, Heinz Mack was presented with a gift by our project management team and representatives of the main contractor, Nüssli: a 1:250 scale model of the Mack Pyramid.

Although the arts and culture centre is not due to be completed until summer 2027, the first exhibition in the new premises will take place this autumn, dedicated to the work of Heinz Mack.
