2nd prize Inclusive Quarter Rappertshofen

December 2024

People and the environment are at the heart of our planning. This attitude is all the more important when it comes to the needs of people with disabilities. For example, in the further development of the Reutlingen district of Orschel-Hagen into an inclusive district, which will move closer to the Rappertshofen facility and thus support the lives of people with disabilities in the heart of society.

We are delighted that our design was awarded second prize in the second phase of the “Inclusive Rappertshofen district” competition. The central idea: to enable and promote participation and involvement through differentiated, communal gardens. The qualities of the Orschel-Hagen garden city are to be further developed in a contemporary and inclusive way.

According to the jury, a special feature of our work is “that its basic idea is user-oriented.” The protocol goes on to say: “In terms of climate protection and climate adaptation, the work receives many plus points (…) In addition, the authors deal intensively with the topics of sponge city and rainwater management. The work thus represents a clearly forward-looking basic concept.”

Many thanks to our urban design competition team for their impressive work!
