2nd prize New basketball training center on the FC Bayern Campus
January 2026
In the north of Munich, a performance center for the training operations of the basketball teams of FC Bayern München e.V. (youth teams) and FC Bayern München Basketball GmbH (professional teams) is to be built on the grounds of the FC Bayern Campus. The junior basketball teams’ games will also be held here in the future. For this reason, FC Bayern München e.V. has launched a competitive planning process in which functional areas for soccer are also to be considered as an option. We are delighted that our design has been awarded second prize!
Our design envisages a self-assured structure that adequately represents the independence and growing relevance of FC Bayern Basketball, thus providing a new home on campus. At the same time, it integrates into the existing campus ensemble and complements the facilities available to all athletes in the club. It is divided into two main areas: to the north, the hall, which is well supplied with natural light thanks to its three-sided orientation. To the south, the visitor, sports, and administration area, which overlooks the hall and the campus and is organized around two central courtyards.
In the expanded version, the Basketball Performance Center will be supplemented with areas for soccer. The overall structures and processes will remain unchanged. The additional functional areas will be arranged compactly in a connected basement level and directly connected to the surrounding playing fields. The Basketball Performance Center will be located one floor higher, giving it a sweeping view of the campus.

December 2025
An exciting year is drawing to a close. We look back with great gratitude on a year that, even in its final stages, brought us surprises and great joy with two first prizes, one second prize and two honourable mentions.
We would like to express our gratitude above all to our colleagues and project partners who have worked with us to drive forward transformations both large and small – from urban districts and campus developments to sports facilities and innovation centres to working environments, school buildings and cultural facilities.
We are excited to see what 2026 has in store for us. We look forward to new projects, collaborations and formats, such as the ‘Circular Construction Dialogue’, with which we want to continue to drive forward our contribution to transformation in construction. For people. For tomorrow.
We wish you all a wonderful, relaxing holiday season and a great start to the new year!

1st prize ‘Replacement construction of Spickelbad Augsburg’
January 2026
Our design envisages a new building that serves as a shared space for sports, school and the public, bringing together a wide range of users in a ‘swimming pool for everyone’. The building radiates openness and clarity, creating a lively atmosphere of communication. Visual connections between the hall, outdoor pool and outdoor space promote orientation and make the building a modern meeting place for schoolchildren, clubs and the public. The design reflects a respectful attitude towards the outdoor pool area and emphasises ecological, economic and social sustainability. The compact hybrid timber construction and clear structure contribute significantly to this. All functions of the new building are integrated into a single-storey structure. The different requirements for clear room heights are efficiently implemented via a staggered roof landscape. A surrounding ‘cladding’ of vertical wooden slats of varying densities connects the parts of the building to create a harmonious, understated and yet striking appearance. The interplay of transparency and solidity responds to the respective use and creates a lively façade.
The design was developed in collaboration with the engineering firm Möller + Meyer Gotha GmbH, Uniola AG and wh-p Ingenieure. Many thanks to everyone involved and to our competition team for their work!

Recognition of the ‘Bildungscampus Süd Heilbronn’ design competition
January 2025
We are delighted to receive recognition for our design, developed in collaboration with Treibhaus Landschaftsarchitektur, in the implementation competition with the concept section ‘Bildungscampus Süd Stadt Heilbronn’ (South Heilbronn Education Campus)! The competition was prompted by the desire for an urban redevelopment of the centrally located area in the city centre.
The urban development concept reconnects the educational campus, city centre and banks of the Neckar River, strengthening Heilbronn’s position as a future-oriented city of knowledge with a high quality of life. The central element is the Campus Park, a green heart that combines local recreation, climate adaptation and sustainable land use, creating new connections to the river. A mixed-use neighbourhood with education, housing, sports and public ground floor zones promotes urbanity and social diversity. Short distances, a low-traffic campus and strong connections to pedestrian, bicycle and eco-friendly transport support sustainable mobility. The concept is complemented by blue-green infrastructure, sponge city principles and circular, resource-efficient construction.
Many thanks to everyone involved in this design!

Recognition University of Bonn, main building – restructuring/complete renovation
December 2025
The baroque, listed main building of the University of Bonn, which once served as the electoral palace, is to be restructured and completely renovated. In the competition of the same name, we received recognition for our design, which was developed jointly with Transsolar Energietechnik, Corall Ingenieure and wh-p Ingenieure.
Basically, the draft plans to incorporate the historical organisation and structure of the former Electoral Palace and, where possible, to preserve, simplify or upgrade it. Precise structural interventions in the existing building will only be carried out where necessary to ensure that the building can meet the requirements for long-term use. The main focus here is on measures to roof the arcaded courtyard, relocate the ballroom to the ground floor and restore the mansard roof.
Further measures focus on simplifying, consolidating and connecting existing functions and spaces. These renovation measures are always based on historical models or structures from the existing building stock. The design meets the highest sustainability criteria and takes into account ecological, economic and social parameters. Various measures, some of which are modular, ensure the high and lasting quality of the buildings and outdoor areas.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this design!
