This achievement is a significant architectural and urban statement for Göppingen. The conversion and expansion of the former Hohenstaufenhalle into the EWS Arena Göppingen was a sporting achievement. The home ground of the Bundesliga handball club “Frisch auf Göppingen” now has a capacity for 5,500 spectators.

Following the victory in the competition, our architects expanded the existing hall on both ends , added a foyer, and created an additional school and club sports hall.
The two new components slide naturally under the existing hall roof. This fusion of old and new allows both elements to maintain their unique and strong design qualities without compromising each other.
