The new residents on the Haigst enjoy a spectacular view of Stuttgart city centre. The building is located in one of the best residential areas in the Degerloch district, right on the edge to the valley, and borders the historic orchards at the rear. The property is thus characterized as a very high-quality residential location. When the building was constructed in 1962 by the Evangelical Church as a functional community centre, it did not possess any special qualities. Due to the complex legal situation, demolition and new construction were not economically viable.

A stance towards the contemporary
The existing building was modified to not only increase the usable floor space by a quarter, but also to ensure that the structure meets contemporary requirements for high-quality living. The previous one-sided orientation of the floor plans, away from the view, has been replaced by a spacious, connecting living area that faces both the view over the city and the greenery. An open-plan kitchen and living room now forms the central hub of family life between the two qualities. Spacious bathrooms and rooms, some with separate dressing areas, complement these spaces.
